Have beaten head against wall for several days, and accomplished nothing except the emptying of brain. This is why I shouldn't be trying to do this. But what I am trained for it utterly worthless, as people are happy to tell me every chance they get. So I try to do this instead in one last desperate attempt to avoid slavery and it's not working.

  • wrote a prayer today, for some of the people who are making a difference. There was entirely too much praying to gods on tv today. I need to remember and be grateful too, but I'd prefer to thank beings that actually exist and help me. I'm not satisfied with the prayer because it doesn't thank nearly enough people. For example, I focused on New York City just because I've been hearing so much more about it. Maybe I'll add prayer another tomorrow, or maybe I should let people add their own sentiments to help me understand who else deserves my thanks.

I know I'm forgetting things. That's what I do, and why I feel so far behind no matter what I do. How can I rebuke someone for resenting is own non-omniscience, when I rebuke myself for my own forgetfulness? But this is better than nothing.

I'll talk more about these in future entries--I hope. I never talked about it in public before. At first, this was because I didn't want to be the sole negative, depressing voice on the internet. Everyone else I read was so upbeat, and I just couldn't be that. I didn't want to discourage people from getting treatment by giving them the heads-up that treatment is so brutal and barbaric. And then after my first chemotherapy infusion, I didn't have the cognitive capacity to do much of anything, let alone write in my journal or debug the perl software.
